Riccardo Fogli

Until the beginning of 70's he was lead vocal and bass player of the POOH band: with this group, which he is still a friend of, he created many successful songs ("Piccola Ketty, "Tanta Voglia di Lei", "Pensiero", Noi due nel mondo e nell'anima", "Opera Prima", "Alessandra"), contributing to the Pooh career.
The first song he lets come out is "Mondo", that let him know to the audience as a solo singer.
After that song, that soon becomes a success, Fogli developes a careful search for his own artistic and professional dimension, estimating his choices e gathering a repertory made of beautiful songs: many of them become big hits, like "Che ne sai" (1979). His partecipation and victory at the "Festivalbar and the "Vela d'oro" ("Golden Sail") in 1981 with the song "Malinconia" is a important verification.
Then, the victory at the Sanremo Festival in 1982 with the song "Storie di tutti i giorni" is Fogli's definitive artistic consecration.
The CDs that come out after every single hit give complete expression to his artistic inspiration. His choices, marked by expressive coherence, are winning: proof of that are "LE INFINITE VIE DEL CUORE", come out in 1987, and the following "AMORI DI GUERRA", characterized by uncommon professionalism and expressive maturity.
A further confirmation is the song "Non finisce così", performed by Fogli at the 1989 Sanremo Festival and placed fourth.
In February 1990 the CD "...SENTIRSI UNITI" comes out.
In 1991 Riccardo takes part again to the Sanremo Festival with the song "Io ti prego di ascoltare", song which is beloved by the Italian audience and gives prominence to the artist's introspective side.
"A METÀ DEL VIAGGIO" is instead the title of a compilation that gathers his greatest hits and some 'evergreen' songs that date back to the period spent with the Pooh band.
At Sanremo '92 he performs "In una notte così", an evocative song included in the following CD " TEATRINO MECCANICO", published by EMI in March 1992, from which it clearly appears through his will to reach a more complex and committed musical dimension that let him improve his melodic style.
The musical search begun with "Teatrino Meccanico" achieves even clearer and outspoken results in 1994 with "NELLA FOSSA DEI LEONI". With that CD infact Fogli, without misrepresenting his melodic identity, is able to show himself as a bravely and pleasantly new artist, also thanks to a lucky union with Mauro Paoluzzi, an avantguarde arranger and artistic producer of consolidated experience.
In October 1994 Riccardo takes part to the Festival Italiano with "Quando sei sola", a song that strenghtens his collaboration with Paoluzzi.
In May 1995 the CD "FOGLI SU FOGLI" comes out, published by Nuova Fonit Cetra: it is a particular work, because it is live-recorded with his musicians (Roby Facini, Pietro Cantarelli and Ugo Manfredi) plus the drums played by Giovanni Pezzoli (from the Stadio band) and the guitars played by Massimo Luca. The sound is plain and effective: beyond the unpublished song "Monica", the CD gatheres the best songs that have marked Fogli's long career.
In 1996 he is present at the Sanremo Festival with the song "Romanzo", written by Maurizio Fabrizio.
In 1998 it comes out his new cd, "BALLANDO", and suddenly it becomes one of the most loved cds of the year.
